Made up of hamlets with traditional buildings in wood and stone, Champagny-en-Vanoise became a small winter sports resort in 1971. You will love the charm of the village, its Baroque church and the little streets with a chapel and oratories. Here, the locals really know how to welcome guests. Popular with families the resort has all the services and amenities for a great holiday.
The majestic valley of Champagny le Haut is a listed natural site and home to a Nordic domain which offers a range of activities to be enjoyed in an exceptional setting: 24 km of cross-country ski trails, sledging, snowshoeing and walking trails, ice climbing, dog sledding, ski joëring...
For those who want to relax the resort has a swimming pool with a paddling pool for the little ones and spas to enjoy a wide variety of massages and treatments.
Finally, a visit to the Espace Glacialis will allow you to discover the history of the glaciers of the region. For children, creative and fun workshops are organised in summer and winter.
The gondola lift which connects to the La Plagne and Paradiski ski area (La Plagne + Les Arcs), reaches an altitude of 1970m, guaranteeing good snow cover. At the top, the chairlifts serve several green and blue runs, ideal for beginners. Experienced skiers can reach the village by the red piste of Le Bois, which runs through the forest, or you can try the mythical Mont de la Guerre piste, which attracts many skiers.
At an altitude of 1200m on the southern slope, it benefits from optimal sunshine. For young skiers, the resort has two kindergartens.
As a family resort the nightlife in Champagny is by no means excessive but there are a few bars dotted around and even nightclub Le Galaxy. The centre of the village has lots of eateries, creperies and pizzerias as well as restaurants with full menus of Savoyard specialities.
You can admire the landscape from a sledge, pulled by dogs, with a Great North atmosphere! The activity is also available for the youngest with the kid-sled version. If you are a horse-riding fan, you can go to the riding centre for a horse or pony ride. And why not try your hand at ski-joëring, or for the kids, pony sledging? You will love it! As for the toboggan run, which is self-service, it will ensure you have a good time with your family.
Don't forget to visit the Espace Glacialis. This glacier interpretation centre is unique in the Alps. In summer and winter, it offers creative workshops for children, as well as guided tours.
Champagny en Vanoise is a village with a lot of energy, always on the move and hosts numerous sporting events every season: Ice climbing championship, Nordic derby, trail, Nordic marathon... Every week in winter as well as in summer, the entertainment is varied: orienteering races, film screenings, family shows, open-air concerts, treasure hunts... Don't miss the traditional welcome drink on Sunday evening so that you don't miss anything during your week!
